Remember when I mentioned that Mr. BMJ and I were trying out a new restaurant for Valentine's Day? It's here if you need a refresher. I promised to let you know how it was, so here's a quick review.
Burwell's is on "short Market St.," close to the cruise ship port and next to the Art Institute. The ambience is casual, cozy, and hip. We know the artist who painted the mural that surrounds the bar and wine room. It looks awesome Jeff!
The food and wine menus are long and interesting and there is something there to suit everyone's taste. We had a special Valentine's tasting menu complete with steak tips on a sizzling rock (their signature item), Filet Mignon and Lobster, and an assortment of desserts. We ordered the truffle mac and cheese because I had to try it. I consider myself a mac and cheese connoisseur (long story, I'll share another time) and this one will definitely go in my top 5.
Our only complaint was the music. It was a bit "elevator" and didn't jive with the mood of the restaurant. Steely Dan. Bleh.
Definitely try Burwell's out! You won't be disappointed!
I busted out my new Charlotte Olympia beauties for the occasion.
I found this sweater for $8 (originally $88) at Ann Taylor. It coordinated perfectly with my shoes and kept me warm in the chilly weather.
It was a nice date night! How was your V-Day?
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because Baby Girl is sick. We think it's her ears (again) or 2 yr molars. All she wants to do is cry, hold her "pup pups," suck on her paci (which is supposed to stay in the bed), and have me hold her. Poor baby. Poor mommy.
