Holiday Pounds
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! We went to a fancy shmancy cocktail party at a gorgeous, historic home downtown Charleston. They had bartenders, a doorman, caterers, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a DJ with a double turntable. Yep! It was impressive! Just in case you're wondering, I wore a gold silk blouse, a gold belt with sequin buckle, black sequin leggings, and Dolce & Gabbana leopard heels.
I'm feeling a little large and in charge these days. It's due to the number of Christmas parties we have on the schedule, the food I shovel in at them, and glasses of babymamajuice I throw back. I have a lazy woman's approach to keeping the pounds under control:
1. I order salads. I hate them. I eat some of the meat and veggies off the top and then I lose my appetite. Lettuce is a waste of time.
2. Watch a horror movie, it burns calories. "The Shining" burns approximately 184 calories and it isn't even scary. I can't wait to see "Mama" when it comes out. I'll burn a whole day's worth of calories!
3. Do a 2 minute plank, daily. It's one of the best things for your abs and it's only 2 minutes. I've been doing them for a week and my ribs and abs totally feel it. I add side planks and push ups when I'm feeling up to it, but make sure to at least do the 2 minute basic version. Thanks for the tip Christina!
4. Don't eat dinner or "pre-party" before your Christmas parties. You will eat and drink enough when you get there. That's a few hundred calories saved!
Told you it was easy peasy! What are your tips and tricks during the Holidays?
You crack me up. My Granny used to call salads "bunny food!" I, however love them!
ReplyDeleteSee you Wednesday night!! Chris is working late every night this week so I will not be able to go to dinner beforehand. Boo.
Yes! Glad I could inspire! And thanks for reminding me I haven't done any since Friday. Here we go...
